Began operating March 22, 1930 according to "Radio News"", with 9 high freq. transmitters. station was formerly WVA, which was located in the old munitions building downtown DC.

looks like a new wing was added at some point maybe Dec, of 1935
- maybe one of the old navy towers in the back ground, those were torn down for new airport ??
