UNCLASSIFIEDTuning Unit TU-60 is a modification of a trans-mitter tuning unit, Tuning Unit TU-10-B, which con-verts Radio Transmitter BC-375 or Radio TransmitterBC-191 into a barrage jammer for use against enemycommunications. In Radio Transmitter BC-375, itconverts the oscillator and amplifier into a Hartleypush-pull oscillator, which is frequency-modulated bya motor driven condenser.The unit operates over a frequency range of 15to 22 mc., with input power derived from Radio Trans-mitter BC-375. The power output of the transmitterwith Tuning Unit TU-60 is 100 watts. There is me-chanical frequency modulation over a band of 3 mc.average width at a frequency rate of 200 c.p.s.Size of the unit is that of a standard tuning unitfor Radio Transmitter BC-375.No tube complement is required.
