TSS Topographic Support System
The Topographic Support System (TSS) is a van and container-mounted system for equipment for topographic troop units. This enables the units to move with corps headquarters. It replaced all the previous field topographic equipment. It is designed to give a quick response with topographic products and services as mentioned below.
OPERATIONS SECTION ADC-TSS-1: The purpose of the Operations Section is to provide a focal point for supervision of topographical operations. It consists of a ISO-container with transporter as described in the manuals TM 5-6675-313 series (for the container) and TM 5-2330-305-14 (for the semitrailer). See the reference files. The section provides a transportable facility for centralized control, direction, and management for the overall functions of the TSS. This control includes processing external priorities, and managing operational activities within the TSS.
STORAGE AND DISTRIBUTION SECTION MODEL ADC-TSS-2: The purpose of the Storage and Distribution Section is to identify, store, retrieve, and distribute topographic data and maps. It consists of a ISO-container with transporter as described in the manuals TM 5-6675-313 series (for the container) and TM 5-2330-305-14 (for the semitrailer). See the reference files. The section provides a transportable facility for centralized control, direction, and management for the overall functions of the TSS. This control includes processing external priorities and managing operational activities within the TSS.
