Radio Transmitting Set AN/MRT-7 was air-transportable, mobile, hf equipment used to transmit voice, frequency-shift telegraph, and If beacon signals. It was suitable for worldwide communication use and in short-duration (3 months) emergency support applications of AACS operations. This equipment could be operated by remote control from Radio Receiving Set AN~MRR-6. It was used with Air Traffic Control Set AN~MRN-15, Radio Receiving Set AN~MRR-6, and Facsimile Set AN~MXR-1 when part of Project Two Wheels. All operating components were installed in and operated from a trailer van. Power for operation was derived from Trailer-Mounted Diesel Engine Generator Type MB-6 (not a component of this equipment).
