As part of the AN/MPQ-4(A) Radar Set the Circular Polarizer MX-2219/MPQ-4A is used to reduce the clutter caused by rain, snow, flog etc. It is mounted above the RF output horns on the scanner and may be retracted and stowed when not in use.
