Fort Myer, WAR radio station

began operating July of 1929, according to the "Army Navy Register", with 9 high freq. transmitters. station was formerly WVA.

R - Radio Receiver

Was telephone earphones, morphed into radio receiver, another problem with ID'ing nomenclature is that the "Aircraft Radio Corp." used the same alpha-numeric type designation for the same equipment. the ARC-12 seems to have this confusing problem, since the R-19 is called out for TRC-1, it cant really be used for and ARC-12 ???
